What We Stand For

Seeks to glorify God in all it does by pointing to Jesus Christ. The only Saviour of the world and to the transforming of human life by the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit

We Are Committed To

Unity without uniformity

Supporting Methodist principles

Encouraging the continuation and growth of the Methodist movement

Educating on aspects relating to schemes for organic union of the Methodist church with any other churches.

VMA encourages Methodists to hold fast to the doctrine, the spirit and the discipline with which the Methodist people first set out

Our Task!

The VMA Declaration – our Trust Deed

  1. The Charity recalls the Methodist Church to the Deed of Union 1932 with its affirmation that, “It ever remembers that in the providence of God Methodism was raised up to spread Scriptural Holiness through the land by the proclamation of the Evangelical faith and declares its unfaltering resolve to be true to Its divinely appointed mission.”
  2. Further, believing that the mind of Christ is expressed in One-ness of Spirit rather than in the uniting of ecclesiastical structures the charity seeks to stimulate the maximum fellowship between the ministries and membership of ALL churches recognising that each can offer its distinctive witness within Christendom and to the world outside it.
  3. In furtherance of this declaration, the charity pledges itself to educate and organise our people in order to achieve these objectives.
  4. The charity calls our people to prayer that the bond of charity and fellowship be not broken.

The Objectives of the VMA

  1. To defend the constitution of the Methodist Church as laid down in the Methodist Church Act 1929 and the Deed of Union 1932 and. In pursuance of this to support the continuance of an independent Methodist Church.
  2. To educate the public and members in the objects of the charity, including the implications of any organic union between the Methodist Church and other churches.

To stimulate the maximum fellowship between the ministries and membership of all Christian Churches.
